The Centre for Policy Developmenmt is organising a Common Ground seminar on climate change. Among the guests is self-styled "Imam" Afroz Ali, who represents a group called Australian Religious Response to Climate Change. You can book for the seminar here.
You can find out about othet ARCC management committee members here. I certainly hope the good "Imam" has been somewhat more upfront with these august persons about exactly what makes him adopt this title. Certainly he doesn't provide the same list of impressive credentials as he has claimed elsewhere.
One needn't be an imam to become involved in this issue. And in 21st century Australia, one needn't have any serious religious qualifications to be an Imam!
