I'm an atheist (yes, I'll burn in hell, just not sure whether it's the muslim, the christian or some other one, perhaps they'll have a time share arrangement for me ;-), but was born to catholic parents and sent to catholic schools. I have to agree that although we were given religious education many times it just seemed a formality. It seemed to me that it was more about tradition, than belief. I never felt different from non catholic aussies, in fact I wanted to go to the local high school as that's where my mates went.
Do you think that is the way it'll go with Aussie Muslims?
This probably isn't the forum, but I'll ask anyway. I've read in some of your articles how you praise ministers and rabbis. It seems to me, that a bit like christianity, islam decrees that all who don't believe will be punished by god or allah. Further, there seem to be many surah in which muslims are exhorted to kill disbelievers, even jews and christians. How does a believer, like yourself reconcile that with present day mores?
I hope that made sense and I've caused no offense by asking.
Thanks,
Brian.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12876536155152397081noreply@blogger.com
